			AmigaOne Boots AmigaOS 4.0 with Forefront Technologies ATI Radeon Driver October 22nd, 2003... Forefront Technologies is pleased to announce today a dedicated beta tester (Jurgen Schober) has successfully booted an Eyetech AmigaOne XE G4 on AmigaOS 4.0 by Hyperion Entertainment using Forefront's ATI Radeon driver and a Radeon 7000.* Though the driver was not intended to operate on the AmigaOne platform (in favor of SNAP drivers), a need for a more immediate solution prompted the porting of the driver to the new hardware. Joshua Helm, a principal of Forefront Technologies, said "The ease and speed in which we were able to convert the driver to operate on new hardware is a testament to the clean implementation of both the driver and AmigaOS 4.0 itself." The current beta release of the Forefront Radeon driver now operates under AmigaOS 4.0 on both "Classic" systems and AmigaOne platforms. The current beta release is targeted at compatibilty rather than speed. Work is currently ongoing to add more blitter support to increase performance and utiltize the ATI hardware to its fullest potential.
